Ajith Kumarasiri (Rock Ajith)

Ajith Kumarasiri, also known as Rock Ajith is an unconventional musician an Sri Lanka. He conveys his message by using rough words and harsh music. his music is about the harsh realities in the Sri Lanken society. The most significant aspect of Aith's music is that out of an entire audience, not everyone like his music. But what we must understand here is the idea that he brings to this society. According to him, music is not just a mere subject, but it is a collection of various human emotions. Thus he manifests the idea that music is collection of various sounds. Ajith released his first album known as the 3rd world, depicting his ideas and attitudes over the Sri Lanken society. Now, I am uploading some videos from youtube so you would be able to understand about his way of using music and how he "Depict" using music.

Love and Vote (Grease pole)

This song is about how modern women are sold out when it comes to their unmistakable characteristic- beauty. The plot in this song is very simple yet it manifests the corruption hidden under beauty contests in Sri Lanka. A simple village girl gets an opportunity to go to the town after winning the beauty contest on the day of the new year. But instead of achieving her life goals, she becomes a fancy doll which goes from one hand to another. The song was written and performed as words by her lover- an innocent boy who tried to win her heart by climbing the grease pole. If we look at this plot simply, we might not see a universal truth under this creation; but if we pay a serious concern to this plot, we will find the pity plight faced by most of the beauties in Sri lanka.

Bill Gates and my Woody gate

This creation portrays one of  the basic problem faced by most of the people in this society- the lost of their roles in the family. In here this theme was applied to the whole world.

As you can see, his music usage is very different. And I do believe that he is one of the musicians in Sri Lanka that depict his ideas and attitudes using music.
